How Sunekos Works
The skin's extracellular matrix — the structural scaffold of collagen and elastin fibres — naturally degrades with age, UV exposure and lifestyle factors. Sunekos delivers a precise ratio of six amino acids (glycine, L-proline, L-leucine, L-lysine, L-valine and L-alanine) combined with hyaluronic acid directly into the dermis. This patented combination activates fibroblasts to synthesise new collagen and elastin, restoring the ECM rather than simply masking its loss. Clinical studies show measurable improvements in skin density, elasticity and hydration after a standard course.
Sunekos Performa vs Sunekos 1200
Sunekos Performa is the primary treatment formulation. It contains the patented amino acid complex with a lower concentration of hyaluronic acid, optimised for deep fibroblast stimulation and ECM remodelling. It is the foundation of every Sunekos course and is suitable for all skin types and ages.
Sunekos 1200 is a complementary formulation with a higher hyaluronic acid concentration (1,200 mg/3 ml). It can be added to a Performa session to provide an immediate volumising and hydrating effect alongside the longer-term regenerative benefits of the amino acid complex. The combination is particularly effective for patients with significant skin laxity, volume loss or very dehydrated skin.
Treatment Areas
Sunekos can be used across the full face, periorbital area (under-eyes), neck, décolletage and hands — areas that are often difficult to treat with conventional injectables. It is particularly effective for the periorbital area, where delicate skin requires a gentle, regenerative approach rather than volumising fillers.
What to Expect
Treatment involves a series of micro-injections using a fine needle or cannula across the treatment area. Topical anaesthetic cream is applied beforehand to maximise comfort. The procedure typically takes 30–45 minutes. There is minimal downtime — some redness, mild swelling and small injection points may be visible for 24–48 hours. Results develop progressively over the course of treatment as fibroblast activity increases.
A standard course of three sessions is recommended, spaced two to three weeks apart. Most patients notice a visible improvement in skin quality, hydration and firmness from the second session onwards, with optimal results visible four to six weeks after completing the course.
