What Are PDLLA Collagen Stimulators?

PDLLA (poly-D,L-lactic acid) is a biocompatible, biodegradable synthetic polymer that has been used in medicine for decades. When injected into the skin, PDLLA microspheres act as a scaffold that triggers a controlled inflammatory response, stimulating fibroblasts — the cells responsible for producing collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. As the PDLLA is gradually absorbed by the body over several months, it is replaced by the patient's own new collagen, resulting in genuine structural improvement.

This mechanism is fundamentally different from hyaluronic acid fillers, which provide immediate but temporary volume. PDLLA stimulators work more slowly but produce results that are more natural, more durable, and genuinely improve the skin's underlying architecture.

JuveLook®

JuveLook® is a Korean-developed PDLLA collagen stimulator that combines PDLLA microspheres with a hyaluronic acid carrier gel. The HA component provides immediate hydration and skin quality improvement, while the PDLLA works over the following weeks and months to stimulate new collagen.

Treatment Protocol

A full consultation is conducted prior to treatment to assess your skin, discuss your goals, and determine which product and protocol is most appropriate. Most patients benefit from one to two sessions, spaced six to eight weeks apart. Results develop gradually over three to six months as new collagen is produced, with the full effect visible at around six months. Results typically last 18–24 months.

Topical numbing cream is applied before treatment. The procedure involves a series of small injections using a fine needle or cannula, depending on the area being treated. Mild swelling, redness and bruising are common in the 24–72 hours following treatment. Facial massage is recommended in the days following treatment to ensure even distribution of the product.
