About Sculptra®

A gradual collagen-stimulation approach

Sculptra® contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biostimulatory material used in an injectable treatment plan to support the skin’s own collagen production. Rather than aiming for an immediate final change, it is designed to work gradually. The right approach, if any, depends on the individual and is always agreed after consultation.

Gradual pathway

A plan focused on subtle, progressive change rather than an instant final result.

Individual timing

Manufacturer information commonly describes a series of appointments over several months; your plan may differ.

Assessment first

Suitability, treatment areas, medical history and realistic expectations are considered before treatment.

Your consultation

Thoughtful planning before treatment

Your consultation will explore what you would like to address, whether Sculptra® aligns with your goals, the areas that may be considered, and whether another approach or no treatment is more appropriate. If Sculptra® is suitable, Nurse Heather will explain the proposed plan, including appointments, cost and aftercare.

November launch

Sculptra® consultations and treatment planning will be available from November. Contact skintap if you would like to discuss the launch with Nurse Heather.

Safety and suitability

A qualified assessment is essential

Sculptra® is not suitable for everyone. Tell Nurse Heather about allergies, medication, current skin concerns, previous aesthetic treatments, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and any history of raised or abnormal scarring. Possible injection-related effects can include temporary swelling, tenderness, redness, bruising or discomfort. A full, individual risk and aftercare discussion takes place before any treatment.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

When is Sculptra® coming to skintap?
Sculptra® is planned to launch at skintap in November. Contact the clinic to discuss the launch, booking options and whether a consultation may be appropriate.
What is Sculptra®?
Sculptra® is an injectable collagen stimulator containing poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). It may be considered as part of an individual plan for gradual support of facial structure, volume and firmness after assessment.
How does Sculptra® differ from hyaluronic acid filler?
They work differently. Hyaluronic acid fillers are designed to add volume directly, while Sculptra® is a collagen-stimulation treatment designed around gradual change. Nurse Heather will explain which approach, if any, may fit your goals and suitability.
How many Sculptra® sessions will I need?
There is no universal number. Manufacturer information commonly describes a series of appointments over several months, but the number, spacing and treatment volume depend on your assessment and agreed plan.
When might I see changes after Sculptra®?
Sculptra® is intended to work gradually, so it is not a same-day final-result treatment. Timing and visible change vary between individuals, treatment plans and the areas treated. Nurse Heather will discuss realistic expectations at consultation.
Is Sculptra® suitable for everyone?
No. Suitability depends on your medical history, skin and facial assessment, goals and previous treatments. A consultation is essential, and treatment may be postponed, unsuitable or replaced with another recommendation where appropriate.
What are the possible side effects of Sculptra®?
Injection-related effects may include temporary swelling, tenderness, redness, bruising or discomfort. There are other important risks and precautions, which Nurse Heather will explain in full before treatment so you can make an informed decision.
