What Is SkinPen Precision?

SkinPen Precision is the world's first FDA-cleared microneedling device, developed by Crown Aesthetics in the United States. It is the only microneedling device to have received FDA clearance for the treatment of acne scars in adults aged 22 and over — a distinction that sets it apart from the many uncleared devices on the market.

FDA clearance means SkinPen has been evaluated against rigorous safety and efficacy standards. In the pivotal clinical trial, 90% of patients reported improvement in the appearance of acne scars after just three treatments. How SkinPen Works

SkinPen's motor-driven tip oscillates at up to 1,600 rpm, creating precise, vertical micro-channels in the dermis. Unlike dermarollers — which drag needles across the skin at an angle and can cause tearing — SkinPen needles enter and exit the skin vertically, minimising trauma and reducing the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. This makes it suitable for all Fitzpatrick skin types, including darker skin tones.

The adjustable needle depth (0.25–2.5 mm) allows Nurse Heather to customise the treatment precisely — shallower depths for fine lines and skin texture, deeper settings for acne scars and stretch marks.
